A capsule collection of handbags made from red Etna orange peel leather stands out as the highlight of the latest innovations from Lamarr, the Made in Italy brand led by entrepreneur and designer Hedylamarr Rodrigues. The collection is distributed by Studio Zeta in Milan.
Since its inception in 2022, the Italo-Brazilian designer has embraced a philosophy focused on environmental respect: from design to handcrafted production, all the way to distribution and sales, every step is carefully considered to ensure responsible and conscious fashion.
The eco-friendly leather selected by Lamarr for its new bags is produced by Ohoskin, an innovative Italian startup that has revolutionized the industry with its patented fabric made from by-products of oranges and cactus.
Thus, the Lamarr Orange Capsule collection uses leather sourced from food waste recycling, transforming waste into a luxurious, durable, and biodegradable material.
Even the charm-bracelet attached to the handles is eco-sustainable, made from recycled brass sourced locally, designed exclusively by Hedylamarr Rodrigues.
This fashion detail adds elegance to the clean lines of the bags, which are enhanced by high-quality materials and the craftsmanship that’s strictly Made in Italy, contributing to the brand’s international success.
Lamarr is also a symbol and tribute to women who have made significant marks in history, including Agnodice, the first female doctor in ancient Greece; Joan of Arc, the national heroine of France; Artemisia Gentileschi, an Italian Baroque painter; Teano, a philosopher from the Pythagorean school; Beatrice d'Este, an influential figure of the Italian Renaissance; and Ada Lovelace, the British mathematician and the first computer programmer.
