Fourth Trip to the Country in the Last Year for the President of the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF): A Commitment Aimed at Strengthening the Friendship Between Italy and China, Thanks to the Activities and Projects That ICCF Carries Out in Various Fields, Including Cultural Ones.
The Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF) is in China, accompanying the official visit of President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, who, after Beijing, will proceed to Hangzhou and Guangzhou, with the aim of strengthening cultural and diplomatic relations between our two countries.
Representing the Milan-based organization—Italy's only platform that brings together Italian and Chinese institutions and private entities—is its President, Mario Boselli, who today, November 8, participated as a speaker at the Third Italy-China Cultural Forum, held at the National Museum of China in Beijing.
Subsequently, President Boselli joined a small delegation accompanying President Mattarella in a meeting with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
"This trip accompanying President Mattarella to China marks my fourth visit to the country this year," stated ICCF President Mario Boselli, "and the second in just fifteen days, following my return from the Keqiao district in Zhejiang—an experience unprecedented in over forty years of traveling to China. This visit is particularly significant to me, and I feel both the responsibility and honor of representing one of the institutions that have consistently served as a bridge between the two countries for many years. I believe that it is crucial for us to understand each other more deeply, using culture, trade exchanges, and scientific research to foster cooperation and, through this collaboration, to enrich one another both economically and spiritually.
Mario Boselli, ICCF President
The participation in the State visit is particularly significant, as it coincides with the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo’s death, a historic symbol of the encounter between East and West.
It also takes place in the same year as the 50th anniversary of the scientific journal Mondo Cinese, which will be commemorated with an important event at Palazzo Marino in Milan on November 15.
"Mondo Cinese", published by ICCF, is currently regarded as Italy's leading periodical on contemporary Chinese studies and can be considered an integral part of our country’s intangible cultural heritage.
This visit marks another milestone in the Italy China Council Foundation’s ongoing journey to build lasting collaboration with China, facilitating dialogue and cooperation across various sectors, including economic, technological, and cultural fields.
