Laneus, the Italian brand renowned for high-quality knitwear with a unique and contemporary design, launched an exclusive collaboration with French artist Thomas Lélu. Marking Laneus' debut in the world of home interiors, the collaboration is a celebration of the intersection between fashion and design.

The collaboration was unveiled during Milan Design Week at the elegant Laneus showroom, located in the heart of Milan’s Cinque Vie district, which was transformed into an exclusive stage, hosting a captivating live performance by the artist, by invitation only.

Laneus presented a capsule collection of three home décor pieces: a pouf, a pillow case and a blanket.

These refined and meticulously crafted items reinterpret brand’s iconic jacquard in neutral tones inspired by the showroom’s color palette.

The design is enriched with piqué details and raised cordonetto embroidery, creating a depth and three-dimensional effect.

A mix of cotton yarns, featuring contrasts between glossy and matte finishes and the addition of a soft bouclé thread, strikes a harmonious balance between rustic charm and sophisticated elegance.

Each piece is adorned with one of three exclusive quotes by Thomas Lélu, specially created for Laneus: two inspired by the brand’s identity and one conceived as an ironic manifesto for Salone del Mobile.

To make this collaboration even more special, Thomas Lélu performed a live art session inside the Laneus showroom, creating one quote canvas with one of his iconic quotes. Two additional artworks, featuring artist quotes, will also be displayed in the showroom and available for purchase throughout the Milan Design Week, along with a limited number of A3 serigraphies, signed by the artist available exclusively on Laneus.it.

The collaboration between Laneus and Thomas Lélu stems from a natural affinity in values and creative vision.

Defining himself as "an artist with a nomadic practice," Lélu embodies the same free-spirited and cosmopolitan essence that characterizes the world of Laneus.

His use of handwritten quotes creates a direct dialogue with the audience, blending irony with introspection.

A photographer, writer, set designer, and visual artist, Thomas Lélu is a multifaceted creative whose work combines images with handwritten quotes using his signature ballpoint pen. “Why do people like my quotes so much? Because they’re written in biro and I make a lot of spelling mistakes.” says Lélu, with his characteristic humor.

This partnership has a dual objective: to open the doors of Laneus’ space, allowing the public to discover the home interior collection created for Milan Design Week 2025, and to engage a broader audience, from fashion lovers to art collectors, design enthusiasts, and young creatives.

About Thomas Lélu

Thomas Lélu is a contemporary artist, curator, photographer, and writer.

Born in 1976 in Seclin, France, he has exhibited his work in numerous international galleries and museums.

He has published five novels, including Le Parisien(Flammarion), as well as essays such as The Wrong Photo Manual (Léo Scheer) and After (Sternberg Press).

A graduate of ENSAD (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs), he currently teaches communication at Penninghen School in Paris.
